If you like to explore outer space, it would be nice to have a manicure to match. In today's mini-tutorial, I'll show you how to express your love for space right at your fingertips. What's so cool about this manicure is that it allows you to try out a variety of color combinations and design options, since the possibilities for beauty are endless - just like outer space itself! For inspiration, you can look at photographs from the Hubble telescope, available on the NASA website.
You will need:
- A dark colored nail polish to use as a base, such as black or navy blue. I used Up All Night polish from China Glaze.
- White nail polish. I used Milani's White Canvas, which is technically a nail polish, but essentially any white polish will do.
- Green or yellow nail polish with a shimmering effect. My choice fell on Green Glow from Milani.
- A pink or peach nail polish with a shimmery effect, such as Milani's La Vie En Rose.
- Shimmery sapphire nail polish (optional), such as Bolting Blue from Milani.
- Nail polish with holographic glitter.
- Varnish for fixing manicure (optional).
- Palette for diluting varnish. This could be a disposable paper plate or a glossy promotional flyer from your mailbox. I used a blank heart shaped card left over from Valentine's Day.
- Cosmetic sponges.
- Scissors.
- Tweezers (optional, but recommended).
- Toothpicks.
- Correction pencil or nail polish remover with cotton pads or a special brush - to correct mistakes. (I decided to use a brush, like the PROFESSIONALS do!).
- Inspiring photo on a space theme. I chose Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek. I also recommend Barf from Spaceballs.

Manicure from the world of space is distinguished by its mystery. Many people associate such details with magic, full of secrets. Experienced craftsmen claim that it is impossible to make the same design on all fingers. A combination of several shades of blue, black and purple help create bright accents that combine a gradient and an accent group.
Unlike other decorative techniques, in this case you can experiment every time while creating a unique style. The advantages of manicure space 2022 are the following details:
- There are no restrictions when choosing colors. You can make any kind of substrate. For this, dark blue, purple or black are most often chosen. You can create accents with lighter tones;

If you love precision execution, it is not difficult to paint over a failed part with the main varnish and the miscalculation will be unnoticeable.
There is no need to take a cosmetic sponge to apply the polish; it is rough for this technique. It is better to take a piece of a new sponge, which is usually used to wash dishes, or tear off a small part of a body washcloth.
The choice of palette for such a design is huge. You can find a suitable varnish in any store, here are the shades that go well together:
- Blue.
- White.
- Yellow.
- Silver.
- Crimson.
- Red.
- Blue.
This effect goes well not only with long, but also with short nails, and is also suitable for everyday life or a super party.
What is used as decoration?
To perform this technique, different types of decorative materials are used. For work choose:
- Pearlescent varnish;

- Set of gel polishes. To create a starry decor you will need dark blue, purple and black, white and silver;
- Flat brush;
- Set of nail files;
- Nail scissors;
- Thin brush;
- Degreaser;
- Base for leveling the nail plate;
- Finish coating.
What combination of tones is best to combine?

- Use a soft nail file to remove the top layer. This manipulation improves the adhesion of the base coat to the nail structure;
- Now the entire nail bed is treated with a degreaser;
- Use a base coat to level the work area. To do this, use massaging movements to evenly distribute the transparent composition. Place the nail in the LED lamp for 3 minutes;
- Remove the sticky layer and begin applying the color coating. We have a dark tone in the upper part, dark blue in the middle, and purple closer to the edge. Using a flat brush, we make stretching movements from one body to another. Place the decor in the lamp for 2 minutes;
- Remove the sticky layer and start drawing. Using a thin brush, draw elements that look like stars. We apply small dots with white paint to create depth of space. Place in LED dryer for 1 minute;
- Using a zigzag movement of a flat brush, we draw the boundaries of the Milky Way. For work we use transparent gel and white color. Use a cotton pad to remove excess composition;
- We apply a finishing coat to fix the finished result. The space manicure photo shows the best options for decorating your nails.
Red nail designs 2022
The rich palette of red allows you to create a wide variety of nail art on your nails. A simple red color looks somewhat ordinary and even vulgar, so pay attention to burgundy, wine or cherry shades.
In spring and summer, choose richer and brighter colors for your manicure - garnet or scarlet.
Creating a galaxy at home
You can make your own galaxy on the surface of your nails at home using a minimal set of tools and consumables. For this you will need:
- Set of dark gel polishes;
- Fine porous sponge;
- Tweezers;
- Basic topcoat;
- Glitter polish.
To avoid staining the cuticle during work, it is recommended to use liquid latex or thin tape. First, remove the protective layer from the surface of the nail with a soft nail file.
Apply the base coat using rubbing movements. We send the hand into an LED lamp for further drying of the transparent composition. After this, remove the sticky layer.
We make the base from dark shades. We will use a small sponge element instead of a brush to create smooth borders. On the surface we draw stars, planets and the Milky Way. Don't make too thick lines. The drawing should not be too noticeable. Let the decor dry for 3 minutes.
Using mother-of-pearl varnish, we create a haze that imitates stardust. Using a sponge, carefully distribute the decor over the entire working area. Don't use too much glitter.
In addition to mother-of-pearl, you can use a scattering of small rhinestones, glitter and mirror rubbing. Before use, you must consider the length of the nail and its shape. On a short nail bed, too much glitter will look tasteless.
We cover the nail plate with a finishing coat to consolidate the result. Let the protective layer dry for 3 minutes from the moment of its application. If the composition has a sticky layer after complete drying, then it must be removed at the end of time. To do this, we use a degreaser or an alcohol solution to get rid of stickiness.
Black nail designs 2022
Dark shades look defiant and extravagant, but despite this, many girls decide to go for a black manicure. This design is not particularly welcomed by bosses, so it is better not to use it for work.
Black manicure can be done in mono technique with rhinestones and sparkles. This design will fit perfectly into an evening look for any celebration.
