How to properly model AGE shaped nails.

Some masters, when extending nails of the AGE shape, only care about external compliance with the standards of this form, forgetting about strength and durability when worn. However, violations during AGE modeling can lead to serious damage to the nail.

When modeling the shape of a nail, it is important to control its quality at every stage.

The most important areas in modeling AGE nails are indicated in the first picture by dots:
BALANCE point
- the point of stability of the nail, located in the center of the natural nail or, depending on the shape of the nail, closer to the base of the nail;

BREAK line

Setting up a template in AGE modeling.

Correct placement of the template when extending nails of the AGE shape is one of the most important points in modeling. The templates are installed with slightly upturned ends (see Fig. 3), for the correct formation of the stiffener

(see Fig. 2.). The angle of installation of the template depends on the shape of the client's nail.

The duration of “wearing” and the appearance of artificial nails, as well as the speed of modeling, primarily depend on how accurately and correctly the templates are installed.

This form is good in itself, without unnecessary embellishment. However, such an unusual design, as in the photo, gives even greater originality and brightness to the manicure. Painting is usually applied to fully modeled nails, before securing them with a finishing layer of artificial material, be it gel or acrylic.

The photo clearly shows that the length of the extended nails is quite considerable. Most often, this is made not for everyday wear, but for an exhibition or competition. It is noteworthy that the smaller size (only 1-3 mm) is much easier to tolerate during daily activities.

To prevent extended nails from clinging and getting in the way, the length is set only 3 mm longer than natural ones usually grow. It is highly not recommended to immediately turn very short nails into long ones, since their owner will inevitably face inconvenience.

Balance point in AGE modeling.

The location of the balance point (in the classic form - apex) is important in modeling AGE-shaped nails, especially considering the prospect of nail growth.

In nail extensions of the classic shape, apex

In AGE extensions, the classical rules do not apply, and the balance point
is located in the center of the nail plate or slightly closer to the base of the nail.
The thickness of the material at the balance point
ensures the strength of the nail in this area, ensuring that the artificial nail does not break or crack, and the natural nail does not suffer from injury.

A stiffening rib, the so-called longitudinal edge, is formed in the center of the nail, which makes the plate angular and blade-like, which gives the name to this technology. After all, Age translated from English means blade, edge, edge. And by and large, the nails take on a shape similar to a blade. And with the right choice of color palette, this design technology has a very impressive look.

Both faces shimmer with refracted light and create a glare effect, or geometrically regular planes reflect pure color solutions. And also due to the fact that the nail plate becomes biplanar, this form of nails has a number of advantages, such as increased strength and visual lengthening of the fingers.
