Allergy to gel polish. The composition of gel polish and what does it contain?

The variety of gel polish manufacturers on the modern market is quite large. Everyone can find something they like, from the cheapest to the prohibitively expensive. From fakes to quality goods. At the same time, the “old guys” on the market have proven themselves in different ways. Some lines of gel polishes won the hearts of consumers, while some were abandoned by buyers altogether. Word of mouth works like clockwork, and many brands simply couldn’t stand the competition.

Gel polishes of the Emi line have appeared on sale relatively recently. But now we can safely say that this particular brand is perfect for both beginners in the manicure craft and professionals. The creator of this product, Ekaterina Miroshnichenko, did an excellent job of offering the consumer a quality product. At the moment, Emi brand products are more widespread in Russia, but the manufacturer is establishing supplies to other countries.

Advantages

Reviews of Emi gel polishes are mostly positive. Some masters and even entire salons have completely replaced their usual assortment with manicure products of this brand. Users note economical use, comfortable brushes and a design that is pleasing to the eye.

In addition to positive reviews, there are also negative ones, but there are not many of them. Negative reviews indicate such a feature of Emi gel polish as fading in the sun, although the manufacturer states the opposite. Otherwise, buyers are completely satisfied with this product.

What is E.Mi-manicure

E.Mi is a Russian brand founded by Ekaterina Miroshnichenko, known in Russia and abroad for her victories in various nail competitions. Manicure products are produced under the E.Mi brand, and training in nail services and nail design is also provided.

E-Milac

One of the main products that the brand recently launched on the market is E-Milac gel polish. This is a domestic analogue of the already familiar Shellac and Gelish, which, according to E-Mi experts, is in no way inferior to foreign analogues.

Like other gel polishes, E-Milac is applied to the base coat, polymerized in a UV lamp and secured with a special top coat. But there are also differences. For example, it is enough to apply E-Milac in just 1 layer to get a rich and even shade; the special texture of the product avoids spreading and uneven coverage; the final coating has a particularly noticeable glossy shine.

Reviews about the product left by users on the Internet, in principle, coincide with the declared properties.

Now the E-Milac palette is presented in two collections: 37 very diverse shades in the main collection and 7 delicate pink shades in the Shades of Elegance collection

Price:

  • Cost of E-Milac in the brand’s online store: 650 rubles / 9 ml

For comparison:

  • Cost of Shellac CND: 975 rubles / 7.3 ml (Ole House)
  • Cost of Gelish Hand & Nail Harmony: 865 rubles / 15 ml (official Hand & Nail Harmony online store)

E.Mi-manicure

In addition to creating manicure products and training nail technicians, Ekaterina Miroshnichenko produces special nail menus and booklets containing various nail designs. This information is distributed to authorized E.Mi stores. Nail menus are ready-made solutions for all ten fingers, and with the help of booklets you can independently assemble a nail image from designs for each finger. All this is called E.Mi-manicure (Emi-manicure), which is recommended to be performed using brand products.

New collections are released almost every month. We present to your attention a brief overview of them.

E.Mi-manicure collections

Let's start right away with what is heavier. The Glam Rock collection is intended for brave girls who are not interested in a delicate pink manicure. Here the designs come in red and black tones and feature straps, studs and leather textures.

The second collection includes several knitted designs that are so cozy to wear during the winter months.

The “Velvet Sand” technique has found its application in the third, no less cozy, collection.

The Textone collection reminds us that this year the main characters on the fashion catwalks were shiny accessories - metallic details, sequins and sparkles.

The next collection is based on the use of a special film for nail design. The Printcot manicure line also includes traditional Russian patterns - Gzhel and Zhostovo painting

The “Perfect Casting in Details” collection combines the seemingly incompatible: delicate and soft shades of varnish with shiny metallic accents.

The Glossemi collection features shiny mirror nail designs.

The vintage collection is not just a manicure, but real voluminous brooches made using the baguette modeling technique right on your nails.

The review ends with the “Feminine Guipure” line - delicate and lace, reminiscent of the Victorian era.

We invite everyone who is interested in the concept of E.Mi-manicure to go through the tags #emimanicure and #emimanicure on Instagram to look at all the details in detail.

Structure of Emi gel polishes

All bottles have a pleasant soft pink color. Unlike cheaper competitors, the Emi gel polish brush allows you to apply the product evenly. The square-shaped cap fits more comfortably in the hand and is easier to open. The structure of Emi gel polish, at first glance, may seem very liquid, but this does not affect its quality in any way. It does not flow under the cuticle and lies evenly on the entire nail plate.

The pigmentation of gel polishes of this brand is very good, so it can be applied in one layer. Due to its compact use, a 9 ml bottle will last for a long time. Do not forget to stir the contents of the bottle from time to time so that the gel polish does not lose its consistency. Despite the high pigmentation and application in one layer, Emi gel polish will last on the nails for quite a long time.

Other products from the Emi line

Colored gel polishes are not the only product in this line. For a more durable coating, Emi produces a base and top coat. The base has a thick consistency, so it can easily even out the nail plate and hide some imperfections. You can dry the base coat, color coat and top coat in both an LED and UF lamp.

The cost of one bottle varies from 500 to 1000 rubles. You can purchase these products on the manufacturer’s website or in other trusted online stores. Do not be fooled by low prices in some stores, as counterfeits are not uncommon in the modern world. Often there are sales on the official website, through which you can purchase products a little cheaper. Therefore, purchase Emi gel polishes only on the official website and use quality products.

Color palette

Amy's entire palette of gel polishes is divided into several collections, which can be found on the company's official website. Craftsmen prefer to use several rulers for work. First of all, salons order the main collection, which includes the most popular shades. They are used to create a bright base for a future manicure. The Elegant Series is no less popular. This includes eight delicate tones with a pinkish tint.

Color palette

Seven more rich colors are included in the series of neon tones. The manufacturer took the best colors of Amy's gel polish and combined them into a stylish, youth collection. On the company's official website you can study and evaluate all the shades included in the series of neon tones.

For girls who find neon manicure too bold, it is recommended to pay attention to the Park Avenue collection. The manufacturer offers seven unobtrusive, light shades with a slight tint, which becomes noticeable when exposed to sunlight. A glossy manicure created with Amy’s “Park Avenue” varnishes will appeal to business girls who follow fashion trends in the world of the nail industry.

Pastel shades

Luxurious, daring heartbreakers will appreciate the chic Dolce Vita collection. The series included all options for red gel polishes. Reviews from masters claim that using varnishes from this series in combination with Amy's base, you can create a stunning manicure. The line includes several options, from dark varnish in a classic style to bright, intended for a friendly party or a romantic date.

Manufacturers of Amy's gel polishes did not ignore lovers of matte, pastel manicure options. The Cozy Evening collection includes classic shades with a matte effect. To protect yourself from buying fakes, it is recommended to order gel polishes on the company’s official website.

Bright shades

With the arrival of warmer weather, fashionistas are looking for bright gel polishes in rich colors. The Sport Chic series, shown in the photo, fully meets these criteria. Manufacturers have enriched varnishes with a large number of pigments, making them resistant to the scorching sun and the influence of salty sea water. Three-phase varnishes of the summer collection involve the use of Amy's base and top.

For coloring extended nails, the manufacturer offers the “Tropical Garden” collection. Gel polishes are saturated with double pigment, so they can be safely called nail paint. The collection is presented in fashionable shades of the current season.

Brand products

First of all, of course, emi manicure involves the use of products of the same name to shape the nails and create a design on them. You can purchase the product in specialized stores or in the online store of the nail design school of Ekaterina Miroshnichenko.

Using special gel paints, you can create any designs, including three-dimensional ones. There is an incredible variety of colors combined in collections, for example:

Of course, the list is not complete. The brand constantly replenishes its range in accordance with the latest trends in nail fashion.

In addition to paints, the catalog contains both gels and gel polishes (including base and top coats), as well as regular nail polishes, which are highly durable. There are also quite a large number of shades. The emi brand also includes related products, such as cuticle oils, nail polish removers, cuticle removers and others.

emi manicure tools are considered quite durable and wear-resistant. They are intended for professional use, but are also perfect for creating nail designs at home. Are there hypoallergenic gel polishes?

What does gel polish contain?

Monomers and oligomers

Substances whose molecules are capable of polymerizing with each other to form a polymer. Such a polymer is a gel polish coating. On the label you can see the names of monomers such as Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate and Hydroxypropyl Acrylate.

Photopolymerization initiators

For example, a substance such as Hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone is a photoinitiator, that is, it actively absorbs ultraviolet rays and starts the polymerization reaction. Different manufacturers include different percentages of this substance in their products, so the higher the content, the faster the gel polish polymerizes.

Solvents

Reaction solvents for oligomers that enable the polymerization process. Such solvents include Isobornyl Methacrylate.

Pigments

Can be natural or synthetic. In colored gel polishes, pigments are most often designated like this: CI 15850, which means that a synthetic red dye “Ruby lithol BK” was used.

Fragrance

Just like pigment, it can be natural or synthetic. It can be found in its composition as “ethyl acetate”, then the gel polish acquires a fruity aroma

What components in gel polish can cause an allergic reaction?

An allergic reaction can occur to any component in gel polish, but one of the most common causes of allergies is the sticky layer. The dispersion layer is the remnant of non-polymerized gel polish and contact with it should be minimized or eliminated. In addition, sometimes substances are used in production that increase the risk of an allergic reaction.

Formaldehyde

A preservative, which is used in the production of cosmetics to preserve its shelf life, actively fights bacteria and moldy fungi. The substance is allowed to be used in nail products, but do not allow contact with the skin.

Synonyms on the label can be: formalin, formic aldehyde, merthaldehyde, methanal, methyl aldehyde, oxomethane, oxymethylene, aldehyd mravenci (czech), aldehyde formique (French), aldeide, formica (italian), bfv.

Toluene

It is used as a solvent in varnishes and is a toxic component. In production, toluene is used in very low concentrations and in a limited range of products.

Synonyms on the label can be: benzene, methyl, benzene, methyl-, methyl-benzene, methylbenzene, toluol, antisal 1a, benzene, methyl-, cp 25, methacide, methane, phenyl-, methylbenzene.

Dibutyl phthalate

A plasticizer that protects the coating from cracking. Its vapors can cause irritation of the mucous membrane of the respiratory system.

Synonyms in the composition can be: 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl ester, butyl phthalate, dbp, di-n-butylphthalate, dibutyl 1,2-benzenedicarboxylate, dibutyl ester 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalates, benzene-o-dicarboxylic acid di-n-butyl ester, celluflex dpb, dbp (ester).

Methylisothiazolinone

Used in cosmetics to increase their shelf life.

Synonyms in the composition can be: 2-methyl-3 (2h) -isothiazolone, 2-methyl-2h-isothiazol-3-one, 2-methyl-3 (2h) -isothiazolone, 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3- one, 3 (2h) -isothiazolone, 2-methyl-, 3 (2h) isothiazolone, 2methyl, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone solution, 2-methyl-3 (2h) -isothiazolone, 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one.

All substances that are used in gel polishes require compliance with safety precautions when working with them. Therefore, you should not neglect protective measures when applying gel polish or nail extensions and be sure to work with a mask and gloves.

Are there hypoallergenic gel polishes?

Manufacturers often indicate formulas 3-free, 5-free, 7-free and 9-free on hypoallergenic products. They involve avoiding toxic preservatives, plasticizers, petroleum products and various allergens.

3-Free

Gel polishes with this mark do not contain three toxic ingredients: formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate (DBP).

5-Free

In addition to the three components listed above, these gel polishes also contain no formaldehyde resins or camphor in the formula. Resin and camphor are strong allergens. 5-Free gel polishes include the Uno Lux base coat and the RIO Profi hypoallergenic rubber base.

7-Free

Such gel polishes do not contain substances harmful to health: formaldehyde, formaldehyde resins, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, camphor, xylene and ethyltosilamide. Gel polishes with this formula include the CND brand.

9-Free

Gel polishes are free of dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, parabens, camphor, methylisothiazolinone, hexylcinnamaldehyde and fragrance. A rubber base coat with a 9-free formula was released by the ONIQ brand in volumes of 10 and 30 ml.

Anyone can develop an allergy to gel polish, even to hypoallergenic products, so you should carefully follow the procedure for gel polish and nail extensions. Read in this article what to do at the first signs of an allergy and how to recognize it.
