Mysterious nail clinser: what is it and how to choose it?

Gel manicure has become such a part of the basic care of fashionistas that many of them already prefer to do their own gel nail polish at home. Armed with knowledge gleaned from the Internet and “observing” the actions of professional masters during trips to salons, newly minted craftswomen sometimes create nail design masterpieces on their nails and the nails of their friends that are in no way inferior to the results of professionals.

Naturally, on the way to improving their skills, many people have questions regarding manicure techniques and materials for it. One of these strange materials is nail clinser. What is it, why is it needed and its possible analogues - undoubtedly, these and other questions will be of interest to novice craftsmen. So, first things first.

Klinser and its contents

The beautiful name conceals just a degreaser that removes residual grease, moisture, and dirt from the working surface.
The same liquid can be used to remove the sticky layer of topcoat at the end of the manicure. The word Cleanser means the name of a group of products, and not a specific manufacturer or company. This liquid contains water, alcohol, fragrances, and oils. The substance is required in any manicure procedures. Can be used for:

  • Hand treatment before procedures;
  • Disinfection of tools, tables, equipment;
  • Cleaning lamps for drying;
  • removing the fat layer from the nail for better adhesion to the varnish;
  • removes the sticky layer from the top coat and creates shine on the varnish.

How can you degrease your nails under gel polish?

All products that help prepare nails for applying gel polish are divided into two groups according to their composition:

  • Acidic…
  • Acid-free…
  • Primer...
  • Dehydrator...
  • Klinser...
  • Alcohol …
  • Boric acid …
  • Nail polish remover

Interesting materials:

Where should I pour the leftover coffee? Where to take out construction waste in St. Petersburg? Where do you land when jumping high? Where to take out garbage in Tolyatti? Where is garbage taken out in Kharkov? Where can I complain about the inaction of the bankruptcy trustee? Where can I complain about the regional prosecutor's office? Where to complain about the dissemination of personal data? Where can I complain about road repairs? Who to call if the music is loud?

Dehydrator

A common analogue of a clinser is a dehydrator. This is practically the same tool. But they have different scales of impact. The cleanser is soft, it removes fat and only the top layer of moisture on the fingers. And the dehydrator penetrates deep into the nail plate, squeezing out moisture. On the one hand, this provides better adhesion of the nail to the base, and on the other, it dries it out greatly.

The main ingredient in the composition is butyl acetate. It has a good pH level and is gentle on human skin. Water reserves, as well as the balance of the body, are restored very quickly after degreasing with a dehydrator.

Popular nail degreasers

High-quality degreasing products do not dry out the nail plates or make them dull and thin. Therefore, when choosing a product, you can be guided by the opinion of the majority and choose popular solutions.

Severina

Severina Cleaner

The product from Severin’s company is a clinser. Severina Cleaner is available in a 100 ml bottle. The pump dispenser helps you save product without pouring out too much during use. Before use, shake the product slightly and then apply a cotton pad to the dispenser.

Cleaner price: 150-200 rubles. The manufacturer has an official online store, so the product can be ordered online.

Kodi

Kodi Nail Fresher

Kodi Nail Fresher is a primer, despite the fact that many consider this product a dehydrator. The product looks like ordinary water and is applied with a convenient brush. Does not contain harmful components, manufactured in the USA. Cody's product is considered one of the best in the primer category. The product dries instantly and extends the “life” of the manicure by 5-7 days.

The cost of a 160 ml package is 900-1000 rubles. The primer is sold in professional cosmetics stores and on the Internet. One bottle lasts a long time, the product is very economical.

De'Lakrua

De Lakrua Cleaner-Sanitizer

De Lakrua Cleaner-Sanitizer is sold in 2 main versions: a bottle with a drip dispenser or a spray. A spray product is more convenient for a quick manicure, but less economical. In the composition of the product, propyl alcohol comes first, and water comes last. De Lacroix's degreaser belongs to the group of dehydrators.

The cost of a 120 ml bottle is 100-120 rubles. The product can be purchased online or in household chemical stores.

Which degreaser is best to use?

For “wet” nails, a dehydrator is suitable. Humidity can only be determined experimentally. Watch your manicure, if it peels off in even parts after a week, it means there is a lot of moisture. It is worth using materials that will remove water from the surface as much as possible.

For dry nails, a clinser is suitable. You cannot use the previous product, as it will dry out even more and can cause harm. After covering with a dehydrator, the nail will have a white tint.

Both options are excellent at removing the sticky layer. At the final stage of manicure there are no restrictions on the use of products.

Manicure without Top Coat: is it possible?

“We managed without this product before!” - perhaps one of you will say. However, a good and long-term manicure is almost impossible without a special fixer. Rubber Top Coat for nails is considered one of the most durable. It polymerizes under a UV lamp, giving the varnish shine and durability. Many well-known companies use rubber as the main material for the manufacture of gels and varnishes.

What happens if you don't apply a sealer?

  • The coating will stop shining after a few hours.
  • Chips and cracks will soon appear, since the varnish is not protected by anything.
  • The color will begin to fade over time.
  • There is a risk of touching the painted nail and ruining the entire manicure.
  • The non-uniformity of the coating will not be masked by anything.

Terms of use

No special skills required. You need a lint-free cloth or sponge and a degreaser. We soak the swab with liquid and apply it to our fingers. But following the following rules will extend the life of your manicure:

  • Select gel polish and cleanser from the same company, they will have a similar composition and will interact well;
  • Don't buy the cheapest degreasers, because they can have a detrimental effect on the nail plates. Expensive products have a good composition;
  • Use only lint-free sponges or wipes with degreasers. Cotton materials are prohibited because they leave threads that are difficult to remove later;
  • Degrease the nail immediately before applying the polish, as its effect lasts 30 minutes. If you cover all the nails at once, then while the varnish on the first ones dries, you will have to degrease the rest again;
  • Remove the sticky layer from shellac, as this layer takes away all the shine. The dispersion layer also causes allergies.

It is very important to use degreasers only before and after varnish, as this will only cause harm at other stages of the procedure. It is the sticky layer that provides adhesion between the materials.

Homemade degreaser alternative

If you don’t have the opportunity or time to purchase a degreaser, you can use available liquids several times. There are many products that can remove dirt and oily shine from nail plates.

Substitutes cannot be used for a long time, as the nails may begin to peel, lose color and become fragile.

You can replace nail degreaser at home:

  • acetone;
  • alcohol;
  • cologne;
  • boric acid;
  • vinegar;
  • soap.

Acetone

You can degrease your nails using nail polish remover. A liquid containing acetone can remove dirt and oily shine, but there should be no oils. Any drop of oil can reduce the wear life of the polish. Acetone is very harmful to nails; with constant use, the nail plate becomes fragile.

Alcohol

Any medical alcohol can be used as a degreaser, plus alcohol disinfects. Both 95% and 70% alcohol are suitable. During use, you should ensure that there are no scratches on your fingers, since alcohol will cause a strong burning sensation if it comes into contact with an open wound.

Vodka cannot be used because oil is added to it.

Orthoboric acid

Boric acid is used as a nail degreaser. It is much easier to find, unlike ethyl alcohol. Orthoboric acid cleanses and degreases nails well and acts as an antiseptic. You need to apply the acid to a cotton pad and wipe each nail with light movements.

Cologne

An ordinary triple cologne that has been sitting on your grandfather's shelf does a good job of degreasing nails. The main thing is not to use eau de toilette, as it contains a lot of perfume additives that can harm the future coating.

Vinegar

Table vinegar, which every girl has at home, will be an ambulance for removing oily shine from nails. Acetic acid eats away dirt and dries out the nail plate. It is often not advisable to use vinegar, as it can dry out the skin of your hands and nails.

Although lemon juice can degrease and nourish nails with vitamins, it is not advisable to use it. Lemon pulp that gets on your nails can cause the coating to peel off.

Soap

Liquid soap dissolved in water perfectly dries nails and removes dirt. It is best to use antibacterial soap; it removes oily shine and disinfects nails well. Washed hands should be dried with a towel.

Available products can remove dirt and remove oily shine from nails, but they greatly dry out the skin of the hands and nail plates. For degreasing, it is best to buy a special liquid that is gentle on the nails and does not harm them.

Replacement for the clinser

Perhaps, after reading the material, the idea arose to make this remedy by mixing alcohol, water, and oil. The proportions of the product are not indicated on the packaging, so the ideal composition is unlikely to be repeated. But if it happens that the degreaser runs out, then here are ways to replace it:

  • Water + alcohol, proportion 70:30;
  • Nail polish remover without acetone;
  • Boric alcohol;
  • High quality vodka. Moonshine is best, since there are definitely no additional impurities.

Thus, a clinser is a basic tool for preparing for manicure and fixing polish. This is an element that essentially no one sees, but without it the process itself would be complicated, and the result would not be so beautiful and long-lasting.

Top Coat for nails - what is it?

There are many different techniques for applying nail polish these days. However, now everything is not as simple as before. A decade ago, women took fifteen minutes to paint their nails and dry them. However, ordinary polish does not last long on nails: after a couple of days, cracks appear. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to update their manicure every day. In this regard, special products have been developed that allow the varnish to last much longer. These include Top Coat for nails. Every manicurist knows what it is, because without this product you cannot achieve the required durability.

The so-called top is a varnish fixer. It not only allows the coating to last much longer, but also gives a dazzling shine.

Typically, Top Coat nail polish is used when applying gel or acrylic. It has a fairly dense consistency, thanks to which the varnish is protected. The top evens out the coating, making it flawless and shiny.

Manicure with glitter

If simply covering your nails with sparkling particles seems tacky or boring, there are some designs that use glitter. You just need to be patient and show some skill, and you can easily do this manicure yourself.

French manicure. Classic is always in fashion. However, it can also get boring quickly. Try replacing the standard white strip with a sparkling one made from nail glitter. This jacket is suitable for both festive and everyday looks. To make a jacket out of glitter, you can glue a special stencil and cover the tip with transparent varnish instead of white varnish. Without waiting for the polish to dry, apply glitter to your nails using a dot or dip the tips in a jar of glitter. All you have to do is brush off the excess, apply a fixative - and your shimmering French manicure is ready! In the same way, you can highlight the holes on the nails.

Ombre. This technique is popular not only among hairdressers - it can also be applied to nails. To do this, apply nail glitter unevenly onto the sticky base, concentrating it in a denser layer at the ends and gradually scattering it like star dust. With this method of applying sparkles, they can be combined, for example, with kamifubuki or rhinestones.

Gradient. This design can be done not only with the help of varnishes. A gradient pattern can be achieved by using glitter of different colors. To do this, you need to completely cover the nail plate with base polish and carefully sprinkle different sparkles one after another, slightly blurring the outline between the colors. You can use a special spatula for this. Don’t forget to secure the result with a protective coating, otherwise the entire decor will disappear.

Nail extension with glitter

This is a step-by-step process:

  1. Prepare your nails by removing all excess – cuticles and hangnails. To do this, you can use manicure tools or special products containing acids.
  2. Apply the base gel and wait for it to dry, which will be indicated by its matte appearance.
  3. Apply modeling gel to your nails, to which dry glitter has previously been added. Its amount depends on the expected effect, and to avoid the appearance of lumps, it is necessary to mix the components thoroughly. This is done on a plastic palette and the ideal mixture should be gel, glitter and shimmer.
  4. After drying in a UV lamp, it becomes necessary to create a glossy surface, for which a finishing coating is used.
  5. If you need to increase the concentration of glitter or create a certain pattern, this is done using an orange wood stick. Afterwards, you need to add another layer of modeling gel and gloss.
  6. The entire “structure” is fixed with a transparent gel.

Important! The design should be thought out in advance! The use of sequins, rhinestones, beads and other decorative elements is not prohibited.

Pedicure with glitter

How to use nail glitter if you want to add a little shine to your feet? The technology is almost the same as for manicure. However, toenails are more susceptible to friction, such as from the fabric of socks and shoes. Therefore, it is better to apply the finishing layer of the fixative in two layers.

As in manicure, glitter on the legs can be used in combination with other design elements: rhinestones, bouillons and pearls. The main thing is not to overdo it with decorations, otherwise you risk looking tasteless.

Expert advice

  • When using large glitter, it is better to use tweezers. Gently pick up the shiny particles with it and distribute it over the surface of the nail. In this way you can even create an original pattern.
  • To ensure that your nail is evenly and completely covered with glitter, you can twirl it a little with your finger when immersing it in the jar. Gently press the glitter onto the nail with the pad of your finger so that it sticks better to the base.
  • To create a design with glitter for nails, you should not cover the entire surface of the nail with base varnish, but only the desired area. Then we wait for the base to dry and use another color of glitter in the same way.
  • If the glitter is placed incorrectly in some places, you can correct it with a toothpick.
  • You should not cover absolutely all your nails with shiny particles - it will look tasteless and even vulgar. It is better to choose the ring finger or, for example, make a shimmering jacket.
  • If you have little experience in manicure design, think through all the details in advance. This will help you avoid some mistakes and create a unique manicure the first time.
